OIRSI Publications works in close collaboration with the Pontifical Oriental Institute of Religious Studies (Paurastya Vidyapitam), an autonomous faculty of theology erected at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathoor, Kottayam, India. Both share a common vision and mission – the promotion and dissemination of Eastern theology. The publications of OIRSI explore the Biblical, Patristic, Liturgical, Canonical and Spiritual treasures of the Eastern Ecclesiastical patrimony, with special reference to India and the heritage of the St. Thomas Christians. Previously scholars had to rely on Western accounts of Eastern Christianity. OIRSI boasts of having given the Malabar Church a voice of her own. Most of its publications are academic in nature and conform to international standards. OIRSI actively seeks to publish doctoral dissertations on Eastern Christianity done around the globe.
